BIG things are happening at Gulfshore Playhouse!
Just a few months into moving to their new home at the Baker Theatre and Education Center and the energy is electric!
Did you know? Gulfshore Playhouse is the only professional regional theatre in the country with “Education Center” in its name. That’s because they are committed to cultivating the next generation of artists, storytellers, and creative leaders through top-tier training and transformative performance experiences.
And what a start they’ve had!
Gulfshore Playouse Anything Goes - Youth
They kicked off with a brand-new adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, where their youngest stars—just six to nine years old—dazzled the sold-out audiences. Then, the Anything Goes: Youth Edition cast took the Moran Mainstage by storm, performing on the same set as the professional production. It was such a show-stopping success that the cast was invited to perform at Walt Disney World!
But that’s just the beginning…
The Broadway Bootcamps (ages 8-13) and Story Explorers classes (ages 5-7) at Gulfshore Playhouse are thriving, and now with all of the space at the Baker Theatre and Education Center, they have even more opportunities for young performers. With upcoming classes centered around fun, familiar titles like Trolls, Jumanji, and Descendants, students are developing their performance skills in fun new ways.
And this summer, Gulfshore Playhouse is taking it up a notch! For teens:
THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL
Performances: June 27-29
An action-packed rock musical based on Rick Riordan’s best-selling novel. This production is perfect for teens looking to take their talents to the next level.
Auditions: March 26 (Callbacks March 28, by invitation only)
Rehearsals: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., June 2-27
For performers in third grade and up:
MATILDA JR. – SUMMER JR. CONSERVATORY PRODUCTION
Performances: July 25-27
Roald Dahl’s beloved story comes to life. The children are rising up…Join the revolt in this Tony Award®-winning hit!
Rehearsals: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., July 7-25
And for your youngest stars, the Matilda JR. Broadway Bootcamp (Grades 1-2) will let them join in the fun, learning music and choreography and then performing with the older students on the Moran Mainstage!
