There is nothing like a splash of vibrant color to liven up a room or an outfit! November will bring over 20 talented artisans and their colorful works to the Seventh Annual Artisan Marketplace Show at the Naples Woman’s Club. The theme for our 2022 show is “Color My World,” reflecting the way color can brighten the world around us with objects of art and craft. (We could all use some brightening after the tragedy of Ian.) Artisan Marketplace guests will stroll around booths filled with jewelry, ceramics, art, apparel, and accessories, plus enjoy two special booths featuring condiments and toffee; all provide wonderful gifts or treats for everyday enjoyment.

The Marketplace, started in 2015 by the Naples Woman’s Club to support artists and raise funds for college scholarships for students pursuing the fine arts, has been held each year in early November, kicking off the holiday shopping season. Mary Limont, who creates unique one-of-a-kind silver and copper jewelry, helped organize the event in its first few years and hosts a favorite booth each year. Patti Patrick, part of a group of talented potters, will once again offer unique ceramic works of art created in the kilns at the Marco Island Art League.

NWC proudly announces that artists Popo Flanigan, Laura Chelini, and Tara O’Neill will also be on-hand, displaying and selling their fine-framed art. Taste of Immokalee, run by young entrepreneurs who have been part of the Immokalee Foundation’s student program, will provide tastes of award-winning salsas and sauces bottled nearby. Beautiful scarves, kimonos, fitness clothing, colorful leggings, and silk dresses will be presented by Dena Lyons, Martha Gill, and Alyssa Del Torre, too. More jewelry, purses, and artisan-made soaps and lotions will also be available.

Be sure to look for the Silent Auction table, where guests can bid on the unique items donated by local businesses; they’ll make great gifts. Try bidding on the opportunity to drive a Bentley for a weekend, stay at a lovely hotel, enjoy a special gift basket of wine, or own an original work of art.

Admission is free. For a more private viewing, consider attending the Artisan Marketplace Cocktail Party on Friday, November 4, featuring the wines and cuisine of Chef Vincenzo Betulia, to be enjoyed while visiting the booths.

The Artisan Marketplace will be open on November 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Cocktail Party will be on Friday, November 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
